Bored now!
Well, unfortunately its been a pretty boring weekend. Mostly because my girlfriend has been busy with other things. Last night she had her cousin's bachelorette party and she spent the night because it was all the way out east in who knows where. I just know it was like an hour from Elena's house, and that was with speeding. Tonight I will be without her again as she travels into the city to hang out with some of her theater friends that she did a show with in Virginia for a couple months last summer. They're going to watch the Tony Awards, which is their religion, as it was explained to me. I'm cool with all of that. I miss her and everything, but, absence makes the heart grow fonder, right?
Other than that I've had a pretty geeky weekend. I've spent most of it either sleeping or cruising the web looking for some new things to learn. Mostly, I want to start my own website. Now I realize I have this blog, but lets be honest, it doesn't have much of my doing in it. I have my own domain name, matthewoster.com, but its not exactly in use at the moment. I was digging around looking for some web hosting sites and found what looks to be a very good one, full of features, for like $50 a year, which ain't bad, not for what I'm going to use it for. I've been telling myself for months to get off my butt and learn to make a page and use Dreamweaver, but I just haven't. I figure I paid for the domain name, I should just get the web hosting and start doing something. No better way to make myself than to say its a waste of money if I don't. I got the tools, just need to learn, and what better way to learn than by doing. I figure I could start off by loading my blog on that using something better than Blogger, like Movable Type (see, I've done my research). We shall see.
In the meantime, I have my big job interview tomorrow, Monday. I hope it goes well, I have a feeling it will. I just have to prove that I'm a hard worker, willing to bust my ass and learn as much as I possibly can. I think I should really mention the whole website thing and all the Microsoft stuff I've been studying for. Thats an interesting split, web design on a Mac and Microsoft certifications. That was made abundantly clear to me the other day when I took a look at the two new magazines that came in the mail for me, Macworld and Microsoft Certified Professional magazine. Can't get more split than that. I think I have a good shot of landing it, after all, I think I have all that they're looking for. So we'll see. Wish me luck.
And with that, I'm out.
