All Set For London

I booked my ticket this morning to go see Elena in London once more, with feeling, as they say in her business. American Airlines, my airline of choice for every trip I've taken over there was running a special, one-way to London for $158 each way, so all told, with taxes my ticket came to a shade under $420. I already put in my request to upgrade my seat both ways from coach to business class. I figure its my last trip, might as well do it in style. Worst case, if I don't get business class my seat in coach is at least at a bulkhead, so I'll have plenty of leg room, just not all the good service and free alcohol. I was put on a waiting list for business class and they'll give me a call if it opens up.

Originally Elena was all for me using my miles and some of hers (since I'm basically going to bring stuff back with me) to upgrade my seat, but once I told her that I actually have a decent seat in coach she said that maybe we should save the miles for any future trips we take. My point was, thats not going to be for awhile since after this trip, I have exactly 4 days that I can take off and not get docked pay. One of those days is already set aside for the day after Brett's wedding. He's getting married on a Sunday, and the ceremony and reception is being held within walking distance of my house. Needless to say I'll be walking there and someone (or a few people) will have to carry me back. I can't wait for that.

In the end, Elena said to do what I want, and what I want is business class, so hopefully I'll get it. If not, then we have a bunch of miles to use for free flights once she gets home. Oh, and did I mention she's coming home a few days earlier. Originally it was Friday, September 24th, but now she's coming home on Tuesday the 21st. I can deal with three days earlier, since its only a week after I leave on the 14th, so its all good. I can't wait for one last time in London to have some fun. We're probably going to go see Romeo and Juliet at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, and I never did take the tour of the Tower of London to see the Crown Jewels. Maybe another ride on the London Eye, who knows. Anything else we do will just be a bonus. So thats it for London.

I have a somewhat busy weekend coming up, which I guess is a good thing. My cousin is flying in from DC for the weekend, and I luckily weaseled my way out of picking her up at the airport, mostly because I have no desire to drive to LaGuardia in rush hour traffic and wait to pick someone up. So I got my older brother to do it. Lucky him. Tomorrow afternoon/night my older brother and I are going to a Luau type party at his friend Andrea's house. She's like the Grace to my brother's Will, if he was gay, which for all I know he could be, but he did just breakup with a girl for having excess facial hair, so maybe he's not into masculinity in a mate. The party should be fun. Then on Sunday my family is heading on into Brooklyn to visit my mom's aunt and uncle, as my mom's cousins, who live in Israel are in the US visiting. So we're all going out to dinner or something. Haven't seen my cousins in a few years, so its always fun to get together. Should be interesting.

Alright, back to work, or more importantly, time to go get lunch. Hope everyone has a good day and a great weekend! Adios!
