Matt's 2004 in 39 Questions
What can I say, I was bored before I left work, I saw this at Jenn's and decided to fill it out too. Here you go, enjoy:
1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before?
A bunch of things, mostly been to new places, countries, that sort of thing.
2. Did you keep your new year�s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't think I made any New Year's Resolutions, I'm sure I'll make one to lose weight, and hopefully keep it
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
My brother's best friend had a kid (well, his wife, but he did his part and contributed half of the DNA), a few ex-coworkers (now stay at home moms)
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No, thankfully
5. What countries did you visit?
England, France, Ireland & Scotland (Very upset I couldn't complete the UK Isles by hitting Wales, but oh well)
6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?
More money.
7. What dates from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Valentine's Day, no comment.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Still dating my girlfriend despite doing the long distance relationship thing for one year and one month and I'm employed.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Gaining back a lot of the weight I lost the year before.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
A few colds here and there, nothing major, this year.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
I didn't buy, but leased, a 2005 Volkswagen Jetta GLI and oh I love it.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Christopher Reeves, for sticking it out to the very end.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Paris Hilton, as they said in South Park, a stupid, spoiled whore.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Car (old and new), gas, credit card companies, Apple, long distance to England, American Airlines and my Dad.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Going to see my girlfriend in England and her coming home.
16. What song will always remind you of 2004?
"Lover, You Should've Come Over" by Jeff Buckley, just discovered him this year and I'm glad I did.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? Happier
b) thinner or fatter? Fatter
c) richer or poorer? I made more money this year, but my bank accounts don't show it.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Sex
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Watching TV
20. How did you be spend Christmas?
With my girlfriend's family (I'm Jewish)
21. Did you fall in love in 2004?
Nope, 2003 took care of it, and despite some bumps along the way, still in love, even more so.
22. How many one-night stands?
None, ever, is that a good thing?
23. What was your favorite TV program?
Angel (before those bastards at the WB cancelled it), now its Lost, Alias (loves me some Jennifer Garner) and Smallville (I love Superman, the character, not the guy that plays him).
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn�t hate this time last year?
No.
25. What was the best book you read?
I re-read the first four Dark Tower books by Stephen King and read the final three, so as a whole they rocked.
26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Jeff Buckley
27. What did you want and get?
My girlfriend to come home for good, a new car, an iPod
28. What did you want and not get?
An Audi A4, (It's what I really wanted but couldn't quite afford, so I went with the red-headed stepchild to the Audi, a VW)
29. What was your favorite film of this year?
Way too many to choose from, but if I'm forced to pick one, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
My girlfriend booked a hotel for the night, we had a nice dinner and dessert at Cold Stone Creamery (Happy Birthday remix rocks!), and I turned 26 (The backside of my 20's begin, before I know it I'll be 30)
31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Not having to do a long distance relationship for 2/3 of the year, but hey, whatever doesn't kill you...
32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?
Eddie Bauer
33. What kept you sane?
My dog, he also drove me insane some of the time.
34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Kate Winslet, after Eternal Sunshine I was just more in love with her than ever before.
35. What political issue stirred you the most?
The election, my guy lost.
36. Who did you miss?
My girlfriend while we were apart, now, no one.
37. Who was the best new person you met?
I became close friends with a very cool woman at work (I would say girl, but she's like 33, so I guess I should say young woman).
38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004.
Forgive and try to forget.

Yeah, Kate Winslet is a cutie, huh? I saw Finding Neverland the other day and she looks really good in that. Thin - not TOO thing, just thinner than I'm used to her - but good.
