Week 2

So I got through the dreaded weekend relatively unscathed. Yeah, whenever I was at my parents I snacked on crap a little too much, but I didn't gorge myself, which is good. I'm still riding the elliptical every morning, and found a new way to punish myself on it, resistance and RPM programs. You know, they gradually increase and then decrease the resistance to simulate going up and down hills and you have to maintain a certain pace throughout. Great workout. Kicked my ass thoroughly yesterday morning, and I was amazed I had the strength to do it again today. But I did, so go me. Right now the only obstacle in my dieting and exercising is the huge batch of hamentaschen I made with my mom yesterday. They're little triangle shaped cookies with jelly in the middle that you make for the Jewish holiday of Purim. And like most things my mom bakes, damn they're good. I'm bringing some into work to share the wealth, and to stop myself from eating them too!

On my other front, I need to seriously think this week about what I want to accomplish with my guitar playing. I'll admit I've been pretty shiftless for the past month when it comes to it and my teacher can tell too. He said to think about what my goals are when it comes to playing, but he thinks if I keep going the way I am that I'll lose interest. Its not that I'm not interested, its just that I'm frustrated. I think I'm trying to take on too much and trying things that are way out of my league. Again, I really need to get back to basics with it and really get down the fundamentals. I think that'll help. I also need to remember why I picked the thing up in the first place, and the answer to that... come on, you know it. Pearl Jam! Thats right. I think this week I shall listen to nothing but as inspiration. Thats the plan at least.
