New Deep

February 23, 2007

Great John Mayer tune off of Heavier Things. I'm going to see him with Missy at Madison Square Garden next week. Can't wait!

Anyway, I've come to a realization about my diet and exercise goals, and they're pretty simple. I need to start fresh, with a clean slate and a new goal. I gained something like 30 pounds, half the weight I lost since my New Orleans trip in November and now. So I lost 60, gained 30, goal was to lose 80. Subtract 30, and my new goal? Lose 50 pounds. Its a nice round number. So I started this on Saturday, and after one week on it, I'm down 7 pounds. So, 7 down, 43 to go, and I'm 14% there. Kick ass. Now I just have to get through a weekend unscathed and I think I'll be good.

Plans for the weekend are go to my parents tonight to do laundry, dinner with Beth and Randy and Missy tomorrow night, and then who knows what else. Sounds easy enough to me. I'll be in the city a bunch next week, so I kind of want to relax this weekend. Lets hope I'm able to.

Alright, there's my update. Peace out!

Steady, As She Goes

February 14, 2007

The song is courtesy of The Raconteurs, a band composed of Jack White of the White Stripes and his friend Brendan Benson and a few others. They're awesome. Check out their CD Broken Boy Soldiers. Its amazing.

Sorry for the lack of entries, I'm a horrible blogger, I know. Life has just been very busy lately. Between the new job and Missy, I barely have time to get done things for me anymore. I know thats a lame excuse, but its all I got, so thats all I can give.

So, Happy Valentine's Day everyone! We're in the midst of a nasty storm chock full of freezing rain on Long Island at the moment, and all I can say is it better not mess with my plans tonight! Missy is making me dinner at her place, which I'm anxiously looking forward to. She won't tell me anything that she's cooking, but she swears that its something that I eat, and that its Italian. So, my mind instantly goes to the only two Italian dishes she's seen me consume, which is Penne a la Vodka and Chicken Parm. Pizza doesn't count. And then she also made dessert. So all in all, I'm looking forward to the evening. I ordered this combo deal thing from 1800Flowers where they deliver a box of chocolates on the 13th and a nice bouquet of roses and lilies on the 14th. She got the candy yesterday, so we're on schedule to get the flowers today. She was shocked at the candy, so I can't wait to see the reaction to the flowers. Other than that she's got a card, a card and some nail polish and a little box from Victoria's Secret coming her way, even though that last one is more a gift for me!

Anyway, thats about it. Other than that, its been status quo. The new job is great, so no complaints there. I've been taking guitar lessons somewhere new, and so far so good there too. I'm trying to write a chord progression this week, and its a pain to think of something that hasn't been done to death, you know? But I'll come up with something.

Alright, back to work, or lunch, one of the two. Have a great V-Day everyone!

New Slang

February 7, 2007

The Shins. Good indie band. You probably know the tune from Garden State.

I just learned a new word for endlessly surfing for porn on the Internet. Getting swept up in the pornado! Funny stuff. Just like a few weeks ago when I learned that Pluto is a verb. Pluto, as in to downgrade or make less important. Like, I Pluto-ed my ex.

Anyway. Thats all. Carry on.

Superdeformed

February 5, 2007

Another Matthew Sweet song. Good stuff.

Yeah, so sorry about the lack of updates. I just haven't had time to breath lately. Between the new job and the new girl, there just isn't time for anything else anymore. But everything is going well, so no complaints. The only thing that sucks is my diet and exercising has gone right down the shitter and I'm packing on the pounds like you wouldn't believe. Time to bear down and get back on track, hardcore. It doesn't help that I ate like a pig yesterday while watching the Super Bowl at Missy's parent's house. Like hardcore pig. So much that my stomach is still hurting a little bit and the belching is quite fierce.

Plans for tonight are thus. I'm starting new guitar lessons tonight. I haven't heard from my teacher since I had my last lesson in mid-December, and I kind of ran out patience waiting for him to get in touch with me. So I booked lessons at my favorite new shop, for every Monday night at 8:30 PM. Kind of eats into my Monday night TV viewing habits, but thats why God invented DVR's. Other than that, nothing really going on.

Alright, thats my update for now. Adios.
