Tired of Waiting for You
March 25, 2007
Really, I'm just tired, but I needed a song title with that word in it, and it was between this Green Day rarity, or Weezer's "Tired of Sex", but that would never, ever, ever, ever, ever be true! Anyway...
For some reason I'm really exhausted. I had a very long week of work. I was out in the field at customers a lot more than I'd ever been during a one week period. For most of Monday I was up in Yonkers, Tuesday in the office, Wednesday back in Yonkers for the whole day, Thursday in NYC and Friday for most of the day I was in a meeting pitching three different design ideas for this companies e-mail system upgrade. That one scared the hell out of me, but according to my boss and the salesman that was there, and the IBM rep that joined us, I did great, so thats definitely a boost to my confidence. Especially since this was a first for me. I was a little disheartened to have two of my three ideas shot down, but thats OK, one was a little ambitious as it involved using the latest and greatest release thats out, which would cause most anyone to take pause, and the other involved a third party application, and this company got burned by a third party app integrated into their e-mail, so they wanted to avoid that. But it was a good week. A long week, but a good week. I'll be in the city for three straight days next week, Tuesday through Thursday doing work for the NYPD. How cool is that?
Moving on. Yesterday was day one of the 2007 Bakefest at my parents. I'm headed back over there at some point today to help finish up, and get my laundry. I didn't really bake anything yesterday, but Missy helped. By the end of the day we were thoroughly exhausted. So much so that we were passed out by about 10 AM at my place. Pathetic, huh?
I'm looking forward to a somewhat relaxing day today. Hopefully the Rangers will beat the crap out of the Islanders too!
Adios for now.
Back in Black
March 23, 2007
More like Back in the Black, but thats OK.
So, I started my new diet on Saturday, after weighing in and finding that I had gained back most that I'd lost in the last three weeks, so I was technically in the red. Two pounds over my starting point, so that meant I now had 52 pounds to lose. But this week I watched what I ate, had three meals and some small snacks, exercised as much as I could, and the results were good. I lost 6 pounds! So taking into account the plus two and the minus six, I'm 4 pounds to my goal of 50, 46 to go. 8% there.
Plans for tonight are to hang out with Missy, Seth, Shari, Brett and his girlfriend at some point. Tomorrow is bake fest 2007 at my moms house, which is going to be tough on a diet, but I'm sure I'll be OK. Work has been going great. I've been busy as hell. I was barely in the office all week and I'm only in this morning before I head out to a big meeting where I'll be pitching a customer a design solution for an upgrade to their e-mail system. I'm psyched and kind of scared, but I know I'll do OK.
I wish I could type more, but my time is not my own anymore! I'll try to check in later in the weekend. Adios everyone!
A Change Would Do You Good
March 16, 2007
Title courtesy of Sheryl Crow, who I saw with John Mayer over the summer on tour. Speaking of my boy JM, I'll be seeing him again in July at the Nassau Coliseum. I just snagged some tickets this morning, so I'm psyched for that!
So, onto the post. No weigh in this week because I was a bad boy and didn't diet and exercise at all this week. Not good, I know. But here's the deal, I'm changing it up. I'm done with buying products off of my ex-girlfriends mother to help me lose weight. I'm going to do it myself from now on. How, I have no idea. Missy keeps pushing me to try Weight Watchers, so I just may do that with her. I figure I might as well keep all the money I make and not give her anymore, especially since I'm so up and down with the stuff most of the time, I feel like I'm wasting money. So no more!
Alright, thats about all for now. As always, sorry for the lack of posting. I'm just so busy with work and everything else, I just don't have to time sometimes, but I'll try my best!
Peace out!
Five To One
March 9, 2007
... baby, One in Five, no one here gets out alive!
The Doors.
I chose that, because the song has the number of pounds I lost this week in the title. Not one, but five. Down five, so after gaining 3 last week and losing 5 this week, I'm back on track, I guess. Just gotta stick with it and not get tempted to stop working out or eat like crap. I can do it! I did it once, I'll do it again! So the stats so far on the road to losing 50, down 5 this week for a total of 9, 41 to go, and 18% there. Woo hoo!
So, one more day of work, then the weekend. I definitely need to relax and unwind this weekend. Its been a busy week, and next week looks to be more of the same. I'll be in the city at least twice next week, once at a customer and once at a training class. Then, I'll be at a customer on Thursday morning as well, so I won't be in the office much next week. But, then again, I'm supposed to be out of the office and billing customers and generating revenue, you know? So its all good.
Thats about it for now. Have to get ready for work. Adios!
City Love
March 8, 2007
"I never liked liked this apple much. It always seemed too big to touch."
Title is courtesy of John Mayer, in a love song to NYC. I mention it because I'm heading into the city today for a seminar for work. The thing doesn't start until noon, so, yeah, I slept late! How awesome is that? Have I mentioned how good my new job is compared to the old one? Better, in case that hasn't come across yet. Its so nice to not have to worry about all the crap I had in my head on a daily basis when I worked my old job. I mean, technically I should have new crap to worry about, but so far that hasn't come up. Which is cool.
Anyway, its Thursday and its been a very good week, for everything, all around. That makes me happy. Its Rob's birthday today and to celebrate on Saturday we're doing a bar crawl to the major hot spots in town, which is about 5 different ones. Should be fun. Tomorrow night Missy and I are meeting a co-worker of her's and her husband for dinner, that should be fun as well. Other than that, nothing really new to report. Just kind of status quo with me lately. No drama, just the way I like it, although it might make for a boring read. Sorry!
Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)
March 6, 2007
Come on, everyone knows this one by Green Day? Right? Good. I kind of find it funny that they used it at the end of the last episode of Seinfeld, since if you really listen to the lyrics, its kind of an F-you song. And I'm using it in an F-you way here, for one last time. And this is the last time it gets mentioned, I solemnly swear. Two years ago today was the day that my bitch, whore, slut, lesbian of an ex-girlfriend and I brokeup. And, since we've now officially been apart longer than we've been together, thats it, no more space or time here devoted to it. Good Riddance!
Onto the time of your life! Things with Missy continue to be great. We spent most of the weekend together. We had dinner at her parents house on Friday night. Saturday we had dinner in my town with her brother and his girlfriend and on Sunday we went to my parents house to make Purim cookies, yummy hamentaschen. So good, yet probably so bad for you. We made about, oh, 300 of them! I took a bunch home and they're already gone! They're that good. After the cookies we went out to dinner with my parents, just the 4 of us, then I went home, took Missy home and that was it. That was the weekend. Nothing big or great going on, just fun. And thats all that counts, right?
Anyway, so thats about it for now. Have a great week people and I'll check back with you soon. See ya!
Texas Flood
March 2, 2007
Title courtesy of an awesome song by blues master Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Yeah, so its pouring here today. Like, torrential downpours. The light in our bathroom was leaking as it tends to do when it rains like this. The roads are a mess, and hopefully some in my area won't flood. Thats the downside to living on the south shore of LI, so close to the water and when there's too much of it, its gotta go somewhere, right?
Anyway, so this week, dieting wise, wasn't nice to me. The week was fine, its just that I was an idiot on Friday night and all day Saturday at my parents and snacked on way too much junk. So, as I result I spent all week trying to undo the damage from the weekend, and didn't quite make it to full recovery. At least now I know how bad snacking can be. So this weekend, I'll be good, and that way during the week I can make progress instead of damage control. So, the rundown is I gained 3 pounds. So in total, in my goal to 50, I've lost a whopping 4, with 46 to go, and I'm 8% there. Enough about that!
In other news, I saw John Mayer at Madison Square Garden with Missy on Wednesday, and it was amazing. Simply amazing. That guy is a Guitar God. Rolling Stone magazine said so! I was blown away. He's touring again over the summer and hitting Nassau Coliseum. I'm so there!
Alright, thats about it for now. Nothing more to say, really. Adios!
