I would say, hey, look at me, blogging twice in one week, but technically its Sunday, so its a new week. If I manage to post again this week, then I can boast about it.
Today marks the end of a very relaxing weekend which is leading up to a very hectic week. Missy's brother's wedding is on Saturday, and her dad's birthday is on Wednesday, so everything this week will be leading up to the big day. I hope the week flies by... but that's just me.
I had a very relaxing Saturday. The usual guitar lesson, then a haircut, then back home to unload some DVD's I brought from my parents. Then I went over to Brett's to hang out. His wife was at her soon to be sister in laws bachelorette, just as Missy was at her soon to be sis-in-laws as well. So we were both free, so we hung out. I saw his dog, which I hadn't seen since it was a puppy and damn the thing got huge! He has a German Shepherd named Jake, and the last time I saw it was in December when it was still sort of a puppy. Now, the thing is a monster. He's huge. Like 90 pounds huge. But he's gentle as can be. He spent most of the evening panting like crazy and chasing his tail around. It was really cute. After awhile Brett and I went out for some Mexican food, and then I went home and passed out.
Missy didn't get home until almost 4 AM, and then had to wake up at 6:30 to go to a post-graduate class. I felt really bad for her, having an exhausting night out and then having to wake up early, on two hours of sleep, and drive to class and make a presentation. But, she's home now and passed out upstairs. Me, I'm just catching up on the DVR before the Ranger game at 2 PM. They're up 3 games to 2 on the Caps, and can close out the series with a win at the Garden tonight... so Let's Go Rangers!!!

On my own, here we go!
I remember when this album came out. Insomniac. Right after their breakout Dookie. There were high hopes, and the album was just kind of more of the same, and if you ask me, they continued to be so for quite some time, until about Warning, which definitely paved the way for American Idiot (of which the title track is the ring tone my cellphone plays when my brother calls. Which one, you guess!) And I'm definitely looking forward to their new one that comes out soon. And I'm definitely shocked that they're making a musical. Seems like everyone is doing that nowadays. Anyway, I remember Insomniac coming out, and this song in particular, the riff especially was stuck in my head when I visited Binghamton for the first time as a senior in high school. Anyway...
So, its been a really long while since I've written here. I wish I had a decent excuse, but I have none. Sometimes I even wonder why I have the site anymore. I feel that with things like Facebook and Twitter everyone I know, and a ton of people that I barely associate with, know what I'm doing on a semi-daily basis. Because honestly, its a lot easier to update your Facebook status with a witty one liner, then it is to come up with a lengthy and insightful blog post. I'd like to say that I'd try, but its sort of an empty promise.
Lately, and especially since I got married I feel like I just don't have the time to keep this up to date. Between work, the house, and everything else that is a time commitment in my life, there just isn't room for the blog. But, I'll try... whether or not I'll stick to it, is another story.
In other news, the title of the post is about how my brain feels. I've spend the past three days at some pretty intensive training with a company that my company partners with. It was a really great training class, but my brain feel like stew at the moment, all liquidy and warm and gooey. I just hope I'm able to pick up and retain enough of the information that I picked up, because it will definitely be helpful in the future for my company.
In non-work news, the house is coming along, a work in progress for infinity. We finally got some of our den furniture last week. Our sofa, love seat and one end table came in. We're just waiting on our coffee table and a small end table. We topped it off with some book cases and matching CD/DVD towers from IKEA. I spent a good chunk of Sunday putting the three DVD towers together and anchoring them to the wall next to the TV. It conveniently blocks a nice sized hole in the wall that the previous owner had hidden by a huge framed picture of the Beatles "Abbey Road" album. The bookcased and two more DVD towers hook together on another wall and block an ancient speaker that is embedded in the wall, so much so that it extends into the garage. We figured its easier to cover this crap up than it is to rip it out and fix it. Hell, if it was good enough for the previous owner, its good enough for us! But, seriously, it looks really good and the den is almost complete as a room. I have my guitars in a five guitar rack, and my acoustic in a normal guitar stand, so one corner is dedicated to that, which is cool. The TV is on the wall and the home theater is setup and rocking. Now, with the comfy couches, we're good to go! Time to have a house warming party... one of these days.
It's funny, because we moved our old couch, a love seat from Missy's apartment that was our only couch into the living room, and its so lonely up there by itself. There's no other furniture in the living room/dining room except the sofa and the small end table that the new end table replaced. I call it the lonely couch.
OK, that is all for now. I'll try to be a good boy and blog more. Now, its time to lay down on my new couch and watch the Ranger game.
Let's Go Rangers!!!
