Title courtesy of The Beatles, who just seem to be everywhere lately, huh? Between their entire discography being re-released and remastered and The Beatles - Rock Band its like Beatlemania all over again... if I knew what it was like the first time around, but I'm not that old.
So, yeah. I've been bad. It's been like a month and a day since I last posted. Sorry. My bad. I would go with the usual I've been really busy and lost track of time, and procrastinated and all that... and it's true. But at the end of the day it boils down to laziness. But, hey, I'm owning up to it and making an effort now. The past is the past... let's move on shall we?
What else has been going on? I have to admit, I've been caught up in the Beatlemania myself. Of course I preordered The Beatles - Rock Band (at Missy's request, no less!). Sadly, the day the game came out, I rushed home from work to play it, and my XBox upped and died on me. The nerve of that thing! To say I was pissed off was an understatement. I almost went atomic and threw the thing through a window. So, what did I do? I ran out and bought a new XBox 360 Elite. I cashed in some Best Buy Reward Zone certificates I had, which cut about $100 off the $300 sticker price. Then, once I transferred all the stuff off the old XBox (we're talking like 8+ GB of Rock Band downloads) I sent the old XBox back to Microsoft, because it was still under warranty (who knew?) and got it repaired. And, having no need of two XBoxes, I just sold the repaired one to a co-worker for the bargain price of $125... knocking even more off the $300 I laid out for the new one. All in all, not a bad deal, right?
And its well worth it, because the game is awesome. So very enjoyable I have to admit. Missy and I played through it with me on guitar and her singing in about a night or two, and it was a blast to do it. Missy really enjoyed it because unlike the regular Rock Band titles, which she only knows a few songs here and there, she knew at least 90% of them in The Beatles - Rock Band. And even the stuff she didn't know by heart, it was familiar enough to her, or it definitely became familiar pretty darned quick! We actually invited Missy's parents and some friends over Saturday night for a game night and we spent a good hour or so playing through the first third of the game or so. And it may have been the 12 pack of beer we almost split, but my father-in-law was really into it, singing lead vocals on most of the songs. I myself was trying to kick ass on drums, something I'm trying to play more of (I figure its much better exercise than sitting on my ass and playing with a plastic guitar, I was definitely working up a sweat Saturday night!)
Other than that, the whole family is in countdown mode as we await my sister-in-law going into labor. Hopefully she does so before next weekend, as I'll be spending most of my week next week in Dallas, Texas. Hee yaw! I really don't want to miss the birth of my niece, but if I'm out of town and aren't there its not the end of the world. The kid will still be there when I get home. I don't think she's going anywhere. As long as I don't get sent out of town during my own child's birth (which would never happen!)
Alright, must get back to work. I'm going to try to post some new ultrasound pictures and pictures of Missy to the baby blog very soon as well, so keep an eye out at The Oster Baby Blog for them real soon!
